HARRISBURG — State agencies and local governments face new requirements to notify victims of breaches of personal information under a new state law signed by Gov. Tom Wolf last week.
Act 151 of 2022 or SB 696 provides a one-week timetable for government agencies as well as state contractors to provide notification of a data breach involving information that can identity an individual. The notification is required when it’s been determined a breach of a data system has occurred.
