Fifteen Democratic lawmakers and candidates and the Pennsylvania Democratic Party filed a lawsuit in Commonwealth Court aimed at responding to what they view as voter suppression moves by the Republican National Committee and President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign.
The lawsuit filed against Secretary of the Commonwealth Kathy Boockvar and the 67 county election boards seeks to ensure mail-in ballots are counted, to allow counties to use drop boxes for ballots in multiple locations, and to require poll watchers to live in the county in which they want to serve as a watcher.
