Pennsylvania Grant Programs
Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Alternative Fuels Incentive Grants – This program has approximately $3 million in funding available to school districts, municipalities, nonprofit organizations, and businesses in Pennsylvania that want to transition to cleaner fuel transportation. Pennsylvania Department of Aging 2023-24 Senior Community Center Grants – Grant funding opportunities are intended for enhancements to increase participation and programming, attract a new generation of older adults, and enable Senior Community Centers to provide a safe and healthy environment for their participants. Eligible projects include: new programing, contracted services, such as instructors or speakers, directly tied to new programming; technology, equipment and supplies for new or existing programming; renovations to upgrade or repurpose space within the center for programs and activities; renovations to improve safety and/or accessibility; repairs or replacement of essential equipment, such as kitchen appliances and HVAC systems; and marketing and outreach tools and materials to reach new and existing center participants. Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program (SCIP) Local Solicitation Grant – Funds are open to local government, including city, county, township or towns. Funding is to address gun violence and improve responses to behavioral health crises through the implementation of state crisis intervention court proceedings and related programs or initiatives. Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission Boating Facility Grant Program – Grants for the planning, acquisition, development, expansion and rehabilitation of public boating facilities located on the waters of the Commonwealth. The goal of the program is to ensure Pennsylvania’s recreational boaters have the highest quality boating facilities. Deadline: December 30, 2023. Click here for more information.
Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission Pumpout Grant Program – Grants for the reimbursement of up to 75% of the cost of the installation of pumpout and dump stations that are open to the general boating public. This includes the cost of new equipment, or the renovation or upgrading of existing equipment, as well as necessary pumps, piping, fitting, lift stations, on-site holding tanks, pier or dock modifications, signs, permits and other miscellaneous equipment needed for a complete and efficient station. Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Cooking in Healthy Electrified Commercial Kitchens: Education and Rebate Program for Schools and Nonprofits – Rebates available on a variety of equipment to make commercial kitchens a healthier and more environmentally friendly place. Applicants must view a webinar and then are eligible to apply for a rebate of up to $8,500 on efficiency or electrification improvements to commercial kitchens. Deadline: December 31, 2023. Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency Housing Options Grant Program – Funds for non-profits or private developers for projects that help continue affordable housing production in the Commonwealth. Deadline: All grants should be awarded no later than December 31, 2024. Click here for more information.
Pennsylvania Council of Arts Creative Sector Flex Fund – The Flex Fund provides support to eligible applicants that provide consistent annual levels of artistic programming and/or arts services in Pennsylvania. One application per applicant per year may be submitted. Eligible uses of grant funds include but are not limited to operating or programming expenditures. Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission Certified Local Government Project Grant – Funds may be used to create standalone products or be leveraged to contribute to larger efforts such as a community’s comprehensive planning process or Main Street program. Examples of eligible projects include design guidelines, revitalization and preservation plans, comprehensive plan elements, historic resource surveys, National Register nominations, and educational or training programs. Eligible applicants are certified local governments in Pennsylvania who have signed a Master CLG Grant Contract are eligible to apply for project grants. Deadline: February 11, 2024. Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development Foundations in Industry Training – This program offers assistance to registered apprenticeship programs throughout Pennsylvania. The program’s goals are to increase apprenticeship availability to employers in the Commonwealth to assist with talent recruitment and development. The apprenticeship program must be registered with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry’s (L&I) Apprenticeship and Training Office (ATO) and evidenced by a certificate of registration. Eligible uses of funds are expenses related to instruction that complements on-the-job training, delivering the technical and academic competencies that apply to the job. Deadline: Applications will be accepted and evaluated on an ongoing basis with awards made to eligible applicants for as long as funds are available.
