Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey vowed Thursday to boost city police presence in Downtown as part of a broader strategy aimed at addressing growing concerns about safety, drug dealing, homelessness, unruly behavior and other issues.
But during a 2½-hour town hall meeting with Downtown stakeholders, business owners and residents, Mr. Gainey stressed that some of the woes facing the Golden Triangle didn’t develop overnight and will take time to eradicate.
